Serenity
by Penelope G. Harper
When I whistle by the willow ‘Neath that sea of finest Blue, When I whisper to the roses, Dancing barefoot through the dew, When I’m laughing with the waters Of the lake, in my canoe, I’m as happy as the Zephyrs; I’m as light as ev’ry hue. As the sunshine bubbles over And the sprouting clover sings, As the summer breezes beckon, I take flight on airy wings, While the chatters of the chipmunks And the tunes of robins ring, I’ll be fishing in the river; I’ll be splashing in the spring. When the geese glide o’er the willow, Swimming, through that sea of Blue, When the wilting roses tremble, Glazed with frost instead of dew, When the silent waters echo Sweet goodbyes to my canoe, I can smile and welcome Winter; Touch the snow, and sing anew.
Quirky, and somewhat archaic, Penelope G. Harper is a writer who must daily resist the temptation to use her dip pen as a sword. Accompanied by her loyal companions, Lady Piano, Sir Ukulele, and Lord Feather Pen, she camps in her bedroom and writes on various devices, including her beloved 1930s typewriter. Now a teenage writer of strange stories and a dabbling poet, Penelope hopes that her stories and characters will go on daring adventures to change the world.

This has such a dancing rhythm to it--I love it.
I love the images!! They are so delightful.
